Nothing has grown me and impacted me and been as sweet to me as marriage and motherhood. The Lord consistently uses these two gifts to radically show me His gospel, grace, and love.
Spencer and I met while doing our undergraduate work at Union University in Jackson, TN. We were both in the theology department, but it wasn't until after I graduated in 2010 that we connected. We spent a few weeks talking and going on walks. In fact, after our first walk and in depth conversation, I went back to my friend's dorm and said, "I'm going to marry him." We then went our separate ways the summer of 2011. He worked at Centrifuge Camp in North Carolina and I interned in a student ministry in Montgomery, AL. During that time we wrote letters to get to know each others' hearts and passions and pasts a bit more. I got a job back in Jackson after the summer and Spencer headed back to Union for his senior year. So we spent a couple months in the same city, spending lots of time together, and learning all we could about each other. Then on October 29th we were engaged, and we got married on June 16, 2012. And then, six months into marriage, we were quite surprised with the news we were pregnant. Katherine Elizabeth arrived on October 16, 2013 and has completely changed our lives for the glory of God. We have learned so much in this parenting journey including trusting God's plan especially when it differs so much from our own. And our second daughter, Claire Marie, just joined us on September 13th. We now live in Nashville, TN. Spencer teaches Middle School French, and I spend my days with my girls and writing. And together we have a photography business called Spencer & Sarah Photography. We love working together and capturing sweet moments for people to cherish. We are incredibly grateful to be on this life journey together and know our best days are ahead. We don't know what the Lord has in store, but we know He will use whatever we walk through for our good and His glory. And we pray our lives point people to Jesus. |
